On Sunday 23rd May, the 2010 Aerobathon to raise funds for the EllenorLions Hospice was held in the main hall at Cygnet Leisure Centre.
Over 50 people turned up to take part, on what was officially the hottest day of 2010 so far! Five hours of non-stop exercise were provided by seven of our regular instructors and included sessions of Circuits and Boxercise, as well as more traditional Aerobics and Conditioning.
The fabulous sound system was generously lent to us by Wes Audios and all the instructors donated there time and energy for the good of the charity. Local press reporters came along and took photos when the event was in full swing.
An amazing £3,500 was raised on the day, through entrance fees, sponsorship money and raffle money, and there are still more donations to be collected.
An official cheque presentation from GCLL to the EllenorLions Hospice will take place at the end of June, when all the funds have been collected and counted.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who took part, and all the generous sponsors, for helping to make the day a fantastic success. Plans are all ready being made for next year’s Aerobathon to be held at the end of March 2011 when hopefully, there won’t be an unseasonal heatwave!
